Can imaginative ideas really come true? As abstract as they may become, the scope of their true understanding is indeed a phenomenon. “Hotel Bench,” explores the scared vision of a human captive, whose survival depended on her imagination and belief in almighty God.
This short scenario began within a country called Armenia. There, Americans fought countless battles against military insurgents. Of which, none were quite rewarding as the experiences of Dorothy Darkling.
One evening while on combat patrol, marine private “Dorothy Darkling" and military comrades, were unfortunately captured in a surprising ambush; and forcefully transported to an underground prison; a place so isolated with darkness, that light was rarely seen. Dorothy Darkling and her comrades were left there to die.
Far from being a travesty of the past! Dorothy’s only real defense was her imagination about life in rural America.
Sometimes, captivity brings out the worst in a person and presents the worst that life has to offer. When thirsty, as the captives were, the wetness of deceased comrades was seriously considered a resource for survival.
Surprisingly, during these tribulations, Dorothy’s deepest and most intimate thoughts revealed themselves, and the conclusion of her life was only moments away.
“Why am I here? She asked. Father in heaven, shine your spiritual light within this darkened place, and somehow take all these unpleasant events away. Place me once again in America, at my favorite HOTEL BENCH, and there I will be happy for the rest of my life.” Prayed Dorothy Darkling. . The next morning, within the fringes of a massive bomb-crater, a US search and rescue team discovered the bodies of the missing soldiers, but mysteriously, Dorothy Darkling's body was never found. Could private Darkling’s prayers have been answered by God?
